Theming Thursday Poetry - 05/24/12

Moonies,

Ramon has asked me to keep track of my poetry... well, I gave him permission to collect it as i posted it... but today, to celebrate my birthday, I have kept track of today's Themin' Thursday requests I made, and the poems I dedicated with each song.

So - without further ado, Here are the poems for YOU!

Regards from Texas,
Ted

Theming Thursday, May 24, 2012

Theme #1 Synergy - Sequence 14 - Sequencer

Larry Fast is a man too
Who had his way with VCO true
He programmed synths
Made sounds mince
Compositions trippingly light
And VCF exceptionally bright
Enjoy this sequenced tune
As you listen on Aural Moon!

Theme #2 Walter Carlos - Prelude No. 7 - Switched on Bach

Walter Carlos in 1968
Synthesized Bach, ain't it great
Here is Prelude No. 7
In its splendorial heaven
Controlling VCO's, ADSR's and so
Walter, or Wendy today
Was a Moogie, all the way!

Theme #3 Jean-Michel Jarre - Oxygene #1 - Oxygene (1976)

Breating Oxygen, we live
JMJ twists knobs, and will give
A synthesized tour de force
Sounds amazing as a thorough-bread horse
VCO, Filters, and keys and much more
JMJ puts on a show, from Paris to China, galore
This was the first synth album I bought
And ever after, these things I've sougth
So enjoy the keys, pitchbending and all
As we swooosh from wall to wall

Theme #4 Kraftwerk - Kometenmelodie 1 - Autobahn

Theme #5 Gerard - Cry For The Moon - Sighs of the Water

Is there Moogs in this song
I don't know, but it isn't too long
I sure hope so this will be a theme pick
Or, Moonies might beat me with a stick
So, enjoy the keys, playing fast
And the melodies that last
Maybe there are voltages controlled well
And the timbres and pitchs glide & fell
Why are we crying for the Moon?
This isn't a long song, it's over soon
And on to the next lovely tune!

Theme #6 Tomita - Mars, Bringer of War - Holst's The Planets

Tomita plays Moog keys
And creates sounds that please
So, is Tomita's Mars better
Than ELPowel's Mars interpretation by letter?
Either way, it is a power song
One played, although it is long
Sounds created not only on keys
But with knobs, slides and knees
The fourth planet is one that's red
And this poem, has enough said!

Theme #7 Triumvirat - Million Dollars - Illusions on a Double Dimple

This band is liked by Vax
And Jurgen Fritz plays a Moog, to the max
This short song, is about a manager
Whom the band would like in danager
So enjoy the tune, while it lasts
And shows that music ages past
We go on listening anyway
Because we are not without pay

Theme #8 ELPowell - The Miracle - ELPowell

Tickling the ivories, Emerson does
You know a showman, he is, or was
But getting up there in age
That won't stop him in a cage
He's a free spirit, roaming wild
Play a Moog - never, ever mild
Turn knobs, pressing keys
Playing standing up, or on his knees
He hits the notes, over and over again
One of the true, Moog-men!
