The future of EP

I don't know what it will be at this point. We have some ideas - but we'll do something. Look for a poll when I return from Japan. Out of necessity, my time accessing the station is limited...

A difficult thing for us proggers now is keeping tabs on new releases and bands both in Europe and USA. There seems to be plenty of music to choose from but it is hard to make a decision.

Therefore I thought of a regular program that delved into all new releases and bands and playing a couple of tracks - a more shortened version of EP.

This is just a thought.

I've proposed a "New Moon" show for awhile now. Originally Roger was going to do it - but he's probably uber-busy with the station stuff now. I'd recruit someone to highlight the new releases and additions to Aural Moon and do a new show like that.

You're right. I'm Über busy these days.

But one of the projects I'm working on is getting someone up and operational to fit the bill.

I don't want to give away any details in case something falls through. Let's just say that I'm on it and we'll see how it goes from there.

Roger -Dot- Lee, always doin' somethin'.

Oooh, nice. There's the show: Playing the whole album, like Tommy did, but it being the new adds. If twelve albums are added at once, that's a month of shows!

Spaz's thoughts gave me an idea

Why don't we have an European Song Contest for Prog? - with voting and all on a program and the most voted get's put on the play list

Any thoughts on that?

The New Moon EP idea sounds interresting and honestly couldn't be all that much work for someone to throw together.

Always wanted to just throw on a New Releases show, but my "grand concepts" always seemed to win out.

Oh, and before I forget, here's the list of requested albums I've recieved but not played.

Klaus Schulze: Mirage
Deavid Allen: Good Morning
Henry Cow: Concerts
Hawkwind - Space Ritual Alive
Camel - A live record
Don Caballero - American Don
Giles, Giles & Fripp: Cheerfull insanty of GG&F
David Gilmour: First Album
Gong Albums
Rick Wakeman - Live at the Royal Albert Hall
CGT Albums
Steve Hackett: Spectral Mornings
Gentle Giant: Acquiring The Taste
Mahavishnu Orchestra: Between Nothingness And Eternity
Soft Machine-Third
Can-Future Days
Pink Floyd-More
Gamalon & Aerial View (High Contrast, Held To The Light and Live At The Tralf )
Beggars Opera - Pathfinder
Renaissance - Seherezade and Other Stories
Soft Machine Albums
Olias of Sunhillow - Jon Anderson
Beginnings - Steve howe
Fish out of water - Chris Squire
Ramshackled - Alan White
Peter Banks - Two Sides of Peter Banks
Trevor Rabin - Can't Look Away
Billy Sherwood - The Big Peace
Patrick Moraz - Out in the Sun
Vangelis - Spiral
Fripp - Exposure
Philip Glass - Music in Twelve Parts
A440's "Ulysses: The Greek Suite"
Alan Parsons "Tales of Mystery and Imagination"
Nektar - Recycled
Camel - Nude
Triumvirat - Spartacus
Rick Wakeman - No Earthly Connection
Neal Schon - Late Nite
White Witch - (first album)
Styx - Serpent is Rising or Man of Miracles
Patrick Moraz - Patrick Moraz 3

I'm lovin this Wim Mertens, Jim. Reminds me a lot of Phillip Glass, but in a good way.

Tommy - Heading back to editing in Premiere now.

hee hee. reminiscent of Sean's "Camel in a good way" quote. I know what you mean, but given P. Glass's lack of popularity with some listeners, I didn't want to prejudice anybody against Wim. I think it's pretty good, and different enough from Glass to deserve an unbiased assessment...

Um, I have a show, and I don't want to be greedy, so, "no." I'll fill in regular-style EP until something's decided, if that'll help.

Thanks, but we've got something lined up. Now we just need to get the new DJ trained and we should be good to go.

We will NOT let it die. It might have a new driver, but EP shall live on!
