What's in a name?

In the spirit of Yesspaz's "Why that avatar?" I thought why not the same concept with member's usernames. Some are obvious (that's right, I'm talking to you Ted) and other's I've often wondered "what the heck does that mean".

Mine, progzealot, I thought was obvious when I made it. Prog = genre of music and zealot = big fan. But some read it as progze/alot. Either way, I just appreciate it when someone chats with me.

Re: What's in a name?

Mine would be in absolute love of this style of music .as the inspiration from sharing that love with others as a man loves a woman .

That's OK. There are new members which may now respond to this thread.

This is not the first time a previous topic has been resurrected. Now, if you want to play safe, you could start a "what is progressive rock" thread.

Re: What's in a name?

Mine is an acronym for one of my favorite Yes songs - GIve LOve EAch DAy. Great song, and a great philosophy. It also has a double meaning.

There is no Dark Side in the moon, really. Matter of fact, it's all dark. The only thing that makes it look alight, is the sun

Re: What's in a name?

Nothing to do with rodents or royalty. Just one of the books by James Clavell set in Asia that I really enjoyed in my youth. The name just stuck.

Hello, folks. I'm the new member.

My name doesn't come from Damo Suzuki of CAN.
I say "Damo (changing from "Domo", in English "Thanks" or "Hello")" again and again so it has become my nickname.

That is only half of the name

What is the secret behind Xt7942 or are those just random letters/numbers?

Wow, your pointing out is very strict.
"Xt7942" is the randomized letters & numbers on a Japanese free-written board.
But I like the sound as "DamoX", too.
