Fripp and Hammill with The Stranglers Live 1980
Back in the spring of 1980, Hugh Cornwell of the Stranglers found himself a "guest" at Pentonville Prison (for drugs possession). With two gigs scheduled at the London Rainbow for 3 April and 4 April, the management decided to turn things around by approaching a number of well known artists (including John Ellis, Toyah Willcox, Peter Hammill and Hazel O'Connor, amongst others) to fill in for the absent Cornwell.
4 tracks are posted on my site with Fripp on guitar and Hammill singing...ENJOY!! http://www.veradiiluna.com/stranglers/stranglers.html PS.. don't get too scared all you prog purists out there...."It's ONLY Knock and Know all...and I like IT" Last edited by artboy : 01-16-2007 at 09:13 PM. |

I always have felt that PH could have melded into the punk scene after prog lost it's punch in England... he certainly has enough angst! The TANK track is quite invigorating to say the least!
