Australian Pink Floyd

A friend obtained tickets and invited me to this show Tuesday (29 Nov) at the Beacon Theater in NYC.

These guys are to Pink FLoyd what The Musical Box is to Genesis.

The lightshow was fantastic -- even the earmark Pink FLody round projection screen.

They opened and did all of DSotM and then did an intermission. They came back on stage and did WYWH. They covered Pigs on the Wing and Dogs from Animals. They also covered Post War Dream from The Final Cut and Keep Talking from The Division Bell.
The oldest PF track they played was One of These Days from Meddle. My only complaint was that they played WAY TOO MUCH from The Wall -- Comfortably Numb, Another Brick in the Wall, Run Like Hell and a few more. I would have enjoyed something from a earlier PF album.

Their animations/film are all adapted from the animation/films of the original PF concerts (having seen them, I know) with a little Australian twist -- a kangaroo.

Save for too much of The Wall, they're quite enjoyable and, like The Musical Box, you find yourself forgetting they're only a cover band.

Re: Australian Pink Floyd

Wish I Was There, never have gotten to see Pink Floyd and it looks like I won't get to see Aussie Pink Floyd, either. Not coming to a town near me, but maybe you can. Here's their website http://www.aussiefloyd.com

Thanx for the report V-man, I get to see the show Sat. night.
As I have said, this is now a PBS TV band and should be a great Video at an Educational channel near you!!

Re: Australian Pink Floyd

I searched the channel Thirteen web site for Pink FLoyd. All I got was a cooking show reference for pork chops with pink beans.

Re: Australian Pink Floyd

How about these guys as an alternate tribute band:

The Not-So-Bright Side of the Moon.

Floyd Lovers and Haters would enjoy this.
