COTM - #230 - Kit Watkins, Oblivion Sun, Happy The Man

Greetings all.

A little something different this week. You can't blame me (completely) for this week's programing because it is a requested playlist by our Denizen of the deep, Sharcnorris.

The old Salty Dog has us start with a solo album from Keyboardist Kit Watkins, who has played with Happy the Man and Camel. The album is Labyrinth and was released in 1981. This will be the premier playing of this album, although some of its tracks are found on the compilation album for Kit Watkins that we have in the library.

Up next, Sharc wanted a Happy the Man album, but not the usual early one. Well, I was able to dig up their 1999 release Death's Crown. It includes a 38 minute epic title track and then two shorter ones. This will be a premiere playing as well.

To finish off the evening is the group Oblivion Sun, which is an extension of Happy the Man as the two main musicians, Stanley Whitaker and Frank Wyatt, formed this group. I have their 2nd album for you entitled The High Places which was released in 2013.

I hope you can join us for this show brought to you by Sharcnorris.

See you on the radio.
