Finding a place for a band for a month!

The Gourishankar has asked me to inquire how five members of the band can rent a place for a month in 2008. The time frame would fall between two prominent US Progressive festivals.

The band has told me that they are ok with gettng back and forth to their native land, but any ideas of an economical stay is very welcome.

Please extrapolate what you will about this (I am in the process of peeing myself).

That's a long time - 2 months just about - I was guessing on Baja Prog and Rosfest - but whatever a very wise choice to ask them. Would make Rosfest a cracker again.

I'm sure the Poconos would offer many vacation style homes available by the month thru agencies or individuals. And only hours away from the area.

But for the Goddess' sake don't tell the agency they are rock musicians.

Re: Finding a place for a band for a month!

I just thought of the perfect place. Orion Sound Studios. They put up bands for extended periods of time relatively inexpensively. Plus they can play/practice whenever they want, and it's in Baltimore, a short trip to the festivals.

It will DEFINITELY work. I've emailed the band......

ROSfest and NEARfest have contracts that say if you play one you can't play the other in the same year. Wonder if the band realizes that. It's good for both festivals when they do that in their contracts.

I'd suggest that they stay in Pennsylvania as both festivals are in Pennsylvania. If this is a given that they will play both festivals, I would look into that for them.

Also, where I reside has a large presence of Russian immigrants. Both Teermin8r and RogorMortis have see the Russian Orthodox Churches in the area when they stayed here. Perhaps, the band would feel more at home if they stayed with people that speak their language. I could research putting them up with the folks that run Rovo Farms in my area.

Yeah that figures. Ego is the downfall of everything. that's probably in there because they don't get along.

Re: Finding a place for a band for a month!

Vax, thanks - I've pointed the band in the direction of this thread, a nice
idea.

Keith - Not a chance....anyway, my wife offered to have them here...hell, i don't even like putting up one!

They seem receptive to Orion.....ok back to a paying pursuit
