I think that results of most annual polls are presented AFTER January. DPRP publishes the results in the middle of Ferbruary, if not later. From what I remember Progressive World does it even later. In my opinion the trick with december albums is ok if we want to have the show in the atmosphere of new year beginning. But from the 'methodological' point of view moving december albums to the next poll is a bad move. In every case this is annual 200X poll so not including some good albums spoils the fun a bit.

I haven't known about any individual conversations with Jim so if something serious was mentioned maybe it would be better to discuss it together.

And one more thing. This is made for FUN. There is no point in perfectionist approach to the method the poll is meant to base on, to the albums included, to the albums not included, to the show date.

That's not what happened and I'm through with this discussion.

Wojtek has been kind enough to do this for several years, so the ball is his. If someone wants to help him, or influence dates, please coordinate with him directly. I wouldn't care if we had a 2007 show in June. I have more important things to worry about.

I echo this. Woj, remember I will have an open date for two airings when you decide. We can talk off line if you like - look forward to casting a vote myself

Re: Moon O'Poll 2007 - preview

I'll have my say now as my name has been bandied about.

As far as I'm concerned we have the show when Wojtek can do it. If that's February, March or December 2008 then that's when it will be.

Woj has been a real Trooper these last years doing the show and for anyone to try and dictate to him when HE does HIS show is, at the very least, Rude.

Do it when you want Woj...if I can help you know where to find me.

Ya know, something popped into my mind in reading this.

One of the biggest complaints was that music from December didn't get included. How's this for an idea: anything released close to or after the cut-off date (arbitrarily chosen for the convenience of the compiler) will show up in NEXT YEAR'S list?

How's that for an idea?

Re: Moon O'Poll 2007 - preview

If the January option is chosen, the December albums will be voted the following year. I'm visiting my unievrsity to know more exactly when exactly the exam session would start and end this year. In case of January we'll start voting most probably on December 15th.
But I still consider Ferbruary option. Actually this would be good experiment to try how it all looks when there is full 2007 album list without cut-offs. We don't know if Ferbruary show would work out unless we try it.

Final decision: poll in January, show in Ferbruary

I seriously thought all over and instead of finding time in January I got additional tasks on studies what makes preparing good show in January impossible. This semester is NIGHTMARE. Every week I have to deliver 5-10 pages of methodological essays + hard exam session + huge amount of classes. So it can't be in a different way this year. And by the way it will be good to check how such post-2007 poll functions.
So there will be poll, there will be show - don't worry. But a bit later.

Sounds good, woj. A bit of light in the dreariness of winter. You term sounds BAD. Thanks for continuing to do the show and poll even with those limitations. We'll look forward.

This will give me time to hear more of them!

Sounds great. Whenever the exact date is, I have a slot for you. And let us know how we can help.

Maybe we can have it around Valentines Day. I can feel the love already!

And woj...wait until you have kids
