Kate??? Maybe??? Just maybe???!!?
Fellow Moonfolk!
Well, I HATE the notion that I'm "mongering" a rumor, but a bit of net research suggests that there REALLY is a Kate Bush album due out, apparently in September... some say the 28th. This would, to say the least, be really exciting!! Some '04 postts suggest that she has been working with Michael Kamen (composer, many soundtracks, not the least of which was for "Brazil") who did some orchestral stuff for her.. Well, we all do have to "wait and see" and I sincerely apologize if this proves to be bogus, but perhaps, just maybe, if a sufficient number of Moonfolk put on their Red Shoes, and click your heels together three times, and repeat.... "There's no voice like Kate's..... there's no voice like Kate's... there's...."

I totally agree...but, if impersonating Dorothy will help bring about a new Kate album, then put on your red shoes, and start clicking those heels together!! In Kate's catalog, The Red Shoes was, for me too, not a real strong album. With all the great musicians that appear on it, the only one that's overtly evident is Prince who I've never been a fan of... Kate has often maintained (in interviews, etc) that her albums are very much about dance, so I can regard some of the more "Princely" tunes on the Red Shoes in that vein, but there are also some classic Kate ballads, etc. I suppose one could (and probably has in past threads) discuss her "progness" but her writing has always elevated her out of the "pop" realm, especially with The Dreaming, and her masterpiece, Hounds of Love. And based on shouts, there are lots of KB fans on the Moon!! But, as you say (should this come to pass) I look forward to the listen too!!

Nice avatar...
I thought Prince was only on one tune. I always liked "his shortness", though. It's just a little too dancey for me, but upon reflection, I love "Big Stripey Lie", "Lily", and "Constellation of the Heart". Maybe a Kate special show.... |

Kate is great! We could argue about her progginess, and I'd agree that she's on that line, but crosses over enough to make the cut. A new album, even if less proggy, would be good. And I agree that Red Shoes is weak for Kate, but still a nice album. Geez, could I be any more on the fence?

Typical Kate...
I didn't read closely, but I noticed the record was to be out in November...now it's 2005. She always has taken her time.
I was planning to do a show on her next month...maybe I'll wait until December. Seriously, I'll do some Kate soon..... |

Kate Bush returns after 12 years
Kate Bush's most recent album was The Red Shoes in 1993 Singer Kate Bush will release her first album in 12 years in November - a double album entitled "Aerial". It will follow a single, "King of the Mountain", released on 24 October, with both the single and album produced by Bush herself. The 47-year-old performer's last album, The Red Shoes, reached number two in the UK album chart in 1993. Her last public appearance was in 2001, when she received Q magazine's "classic songwriter" award in London. 'Outstanding contribution' A year later she was named the recipient of the Ivor Novello outstanding contribution to British music prize. Bush became famous in 1978 with her debut hit Wuthering Heights, which topped the UK chart for four weeks, followed by acclaimed debut album The Kick Inside. She went on to have a string of hit albums and singles including Babooshka, Running Up That Hill and Don't Give Up, a duet with Peter Gabriel. The next phase of Bush's recording career was the focus of much speculation, while artists including Tori Amos, PJ Harvey and Goldfrapp cited her as an influence. Bush's new album will be released in the UK on 7 November and in the US one day later. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertain...ic/4204166.stm

Aerial
It's not out yet, but Amazon is taking pre-orders on the album, and the UK Amazon is doing same for the single!
To borrow (completely!) from Kate's own words..... Soon it will be the phase of the moon When people tune in. Well it could be love, Or it could be just lust, But it will be fun. It will be wonderful. It's nearly killing me, but what a lovely feeling! Here we have a purpose in life: Good for the blood circulation, Good for releasing the tension, Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! Unbelievable!
