I believe the intent of this thread, correct me if I'm wrong, is to enlighten other players/listeners of prog rock as to the plethora of music out there and the keen ones write these down and research/listen to broaden their horizons.....and "the" is a perfectly good word to match to. Thanks and keep on namin on.

No. I said it would stop at 5000. That thread alone consumed over 50MB. Not much in a giga and tera byte world but it consumes the space I need to backup and adds to the time to do it.

Perhaps, if this is to continue, I make the thread self-purging and maintain only the last 10 posts? Nobody is going back to review its history and it would seem to me to only complicate the search process for meaningful info.

Now, if anyone wishes to take up a collection for 2 new larger drives, I could be convinced that this pointless name-association is a good thing.

I agree with that Vax. 10 posts is more than enough. Nobody wants to know how many posts we already had ....

Re: Return to the Name Association Game

I was confused. I tried to work out why there would be 2 threads on the same topic.

Vax cleared the way " I can see......the rain ins gone."

Vax before you purge I was wondering if some stats are available? Stats like
The most posted artist, song, album like a top 10. Who posted the most.
The least mentioned artist etc.

Just wondering , (not about how many times you had ....) sorry that was somthing else

I can quickly mine for who posted the most but I'm not going to read all the text of 5000+ posts to tabulate such statistics.

If you'd like, the responsibility for keeping the ticking can be yours. Let me know where to send the server images and I'll pull the plug here.

I am sorry VAXman, I was actually supporting the right / responsibility of the administrators to make decisions that you guys feel is best for AM. I didn’t intend to appear critical. My apologies once again.
