Larry Goldings

I ve been a huge huge fan of him since early 90s. I heard him for first time in a live show here in Santiago, touring with John Scofield. 94'. Scofield was promoting his latest album,,a quartet , and at that date I had not heard the album yet;
I just went to show, no idea about the lineup.

Immediately, immediately his playing and his Hammond B3 took my full attention,,even more than Sco.

Through the years this great piano player and organ player and also a keyboard explorer has been extremely versatile and very requested.

You can explore, there is a lot of stuff around.

This guy has also a very peculiar and creative sense of humor and time to time put something on youtube..
I m sharing this one just for fun today
but also as an opportunity to make a reference to his musicality in case some friend here is interested.

BTW let s not forget that we have here a couple of great B3 players in library too : Brian Auger ,who else,, and John Medeski

cheers my good friends

one more,,,,sorry if I m invading something here;

take a look how a boring, predictable well known standard jazz tune is much more interesting when is played creatively; among everything here and just starting in the first bars, he plays altered chords or harmonies, sounding like a 'twisted pitch' adding and changing the focus or whatever you expect. I truly believe that is in a very improvised way,,, he has a complete complete understanding of harmony and how it works which let him play whatever come to his mind.

I hope you enjoy it or have a couple of minutes of fun,,,,btw.. what a great instrument the organ is.

music speaks for itself but just couple of comments from viewers
'How can something fairly simple,,,be so freakin great,,,,'
'so. freakin. great. that crash cymbal is insane, jay'

again friends,, just a nuance from another place just to share here,not biggie; just for fun.
