Summer’s End Festival Forced To Change Bill The Summers End festival has been forced to change the bill at late notice after DeeExpus withdrew from next month’s event.

They’ll be replaced by reactivated proggers Haze at Lydney Town Hall, Gloucestershire, on Friday October 4 – the first of three nights featuring headliners Focus, Gordon Giltrap and Oliver Wakeman and Sylvan.

DeeExpus mainman Andy Ditchfield explains: “Due to major malfunction of one of our vital pieces of equipment – namely our guitarist – we have no alternative but to pull out.

“We tried our utmost to work out a solution but despite our intense and best efforts, we failed. We’re all gutted to miss the festival, except Mike Varty, who will still be there with Landmarq. We’d like to extend our sincere apologies to those who were travelling to see us, and to the organisers, who have been very gracious and understanding.”

Promoter Stephen Lambe says: “Every cloud has a silver lining – and we’re very pleased to announce that Sheffield-based prog-folk legends Haze have agreed to step in at short notice. Formed in 1978, the band are now back to full activity following  the release of the first new music as Haze for decades, with The Last Battle on Cyclops earlier this year.”

Some tickets remain on sale for this year’s event via www.summersend.co.uk.
