‘Island of the Imbeciles’ due for release in 2014 is to be Steve Thorne’s final solo album. steve thorneSteve Thorne is currently working on his fifth and final album ‘Island Of The Imbeciles’ which will feature Nick D’Virgilio and Tony Levin among others.

Another album has been developing alongside ‘Imbeciles’ entitled ‘A pocket full of change’ and will be released under the name of ‘The Salamander Project’ this album will be, “much more mainstream and accessible with no real so called ‘progressive’ influences. It focuses more on song writing and less on virtuoso playing. The album will feature 10 or 11 well crafted songs.”

Steve intends to take a break from his solo career for a while, although he does have “…enough material now to do at least another 4 or 5 albums”, he intends to concentrate on writing for other artists/bands after the completion of “Island Of The Imbeciles”. He is currently co-writing and producing for a young artist of 22 called James McClaren who has already supported Roger Daltry, Toploader and Status Quo. Steve says, “James is incredibly talented and is gonna get the best production and attention to detail possible.”
