Moody Blues Announce ‘Days of Future Passed’ 50th Anniversary Tour Moody Blues Announce ‘Days of Future Passed’ 50th Anniversary Tour

The Moody Blues will spend this summer on the road, commemorating the 50th anniversary of their breakthrough Days of Future Passed LP with shows serving up a set filled with the band’s greatest hits followed by complete performances of the album.

“Little did we know when we made Days of Future Passed that it would eventually change our lives,” recalled frontman Justin Hayward in the press release announcing the tour. “It took five long years to make it the top of the charts. But we mustn’t take all the credit for this remarkable project — there were many creative minds who contributed at the time, and who believed in us when we were young and inexperienced. We just wrote the songs — about every-man. My dearest wish is that maybe the album has made the world a better place. It will be a joy to return to it, live.”

The idea of a Days of Future Passed anniversary tour has been on the Moody Blues members’ minds for some time. In 2015, bassist John Lodge publicly entertained the notion of bringing former members Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder back to the lineup in some capacity for a series of special dates — an idea that seems to have fallen by the wayside since, but still leaves an impressively comprehensive show that should hold unique appeal for longtime fans.

Tickets and VIP packages for a handful of dates on the tour are already on sale through the group’s official site, with others scheduled for a series of staggered pre-sale events. Visit the Moody Blues’ tour page for full details, and look over the complete list of currently announced shows below.
