NEARFEST PRESS RELEASE
January 13, 2006

KEITH EMERSON TO HEADLINE NEARFEST 2006

We are very honored to announce that progressive keyboard maestro
Keith Emerson will be appearing as the Sunday headliner for NEARfest
2006 with his superb backing band (Dave Kilminster on guitar and
vocals, Pete Riley on drums, Phil Williams on bass). Audiences in the
USA, Japan, and all over Europe have thrilled to the passion, fire,
and musical virtuosity of the Keith Emerson Band, which performed
powerful versions of classic ELP and Nice material along with Emerson
solo and soundtrack pieces arranged for the full band, and new songs
as well. Armed with his full arsenal of vintage and modern keyboards,
including his custom modular Moog, Emerson is sure to deliver an
unforgettable NEARfest headline performance. Don't miss this
opportunity to see, hear and meet this living legend at NEARfest 2006!

Re: Nearfest.....

This is good, Rick. I seem to remember they had to cancel before because of visa hassles?

I can't find tix pricing under tickets info. What is the ballpark figure for the weekend. Also, where do ppl stay...recommendations?

thx, mossy

you are correct.

It's kind of complicated about the other info ( a bit more than i can give right now at work)...

but the Patron seats are $225 (a bit much) and general is lowe, maybe in the high 100's. I'm surprised the info is not there.

Every time but twice I've sat Patron so I don't know how the others work. There's a time frame for general sales. If you don't see prices, email rob or chad (via the link). they'd be glad to help. i can look tonight also.

The hotels I'm not sure. i stayed the past two years at the same hotel most bands did and had a rousing time. Lots of stories. but I heard that hotel is off limits this year. A friend booked 20 rooms when last year's shows were announces and Rob got royally pissed. So I think that's the result. I'm winging it. I should be fine.

They're in the middle of the Patron Lottery, I should know soon what i get. if you go patron you need to sign up by tonight!

There I answered you anyway lol...again I'll check tonight...

BIG headliners (such as Steve Hackett) caused tickets to sell out quickly. I actually missed out on tix for the NF which featured Hackett but I was able to secure a set when another ticket holder had to relinquish their tix. Since then, it's the patron tix for me.

With Emerson headlining, the regular tix might go just as fast. Good luck.
