yeaaahhhhh...

just got back from Happy the Man at Orion. A sixteen song auralfest on the ears. This was a show they stuck in-between dates. $15 for a 1:50 show. Can't beat it. Played from 8PM till almost ten.

Played most of the new record - I had heard these before when they played about a year ago, but the new stuff is still great. The title track (Muse Awakens) is magnificent. There's a song "Lunch at the Psychedelicatessin" (sure I messed up the spelling blame the Guiness ) that was awesome.

After the show I went to the stage and gawked. Frank Wyatt's set up was really cool, from the laminated set list to the hand-written sheet music to the many instruments. He's just a lot of fun to watch - I think he makes the whole band go. He needed a helper to successfully switch instruments.

They finished wth Service with a Smile and Stumpy, and also hit Crafty Hands hard. From that record, Ibby It Is, Steaming Pipes, Wind Up Doll Day Wind, and especially I Forgot To Push It were so good. Did one off of Death's Crown also....name escapes me. I would have stolen the set list but I grew out of that a few years back

Off to bed.......

The combination of great friends, Orion Studios, and a legendary band is something I will never take for granted.
