To get an idea of the crowd, please read my review in the Vai thread. If the gig is at a nightclub, it's worth it to get close - the rhythm section is astounding, and Ed and John are fun to watch.

However, there are some real losers who see this great band. Watch out for the stoners and the extreme drunks. They can very distracting. Even if you stay off to the side, there are the hippie Dead/Phish/Hornsby dancers. They are very detracting from the experience.

Grab a center floor spot, or if there is an upstairs, a railing spot. Use your female powers to persuade others to let you grab a prime spot. You will love the band.
