a week later....
oh what the hell, I'll add a post this late...
Being that I'm from Louisiana, it's no small irony (to me at least) that I was way the hell up north in Nova Scotia when this show aired! ![]() And I'm no thrash fan, but I find many (not just this episode) "complaints" about programming, etc, are summed up by observing that: 1.) The "core" of the Moon is "prog" music. PDJ sees to that! 2.) The passion of the listener is what keeps him/her coming back (and adding content to week-old threads!) 3.) There's prog music, and there's prog radio! IMHO, the latter has a healthy enough self-image to make room for a WIDE definition of the former! Now, back to the regularly scheduled program.... ![]() |

I'll just add that, at this point in time, I have no intention of placing restrictions on what the Gnosis team plays. The content of the most recent show wasn't my favorite - but I didn't find it without merit. And I am strongly in favor of them including things not on the playlist, even if they'll never be on the playlist. (Like most death metal and countrified rock.)
now if they did back to back rap shows, we'd have a little talk... ![]() |

But, I have to admit that Big and Rich are the best thing to happen to (non-prog) popular music in a long time. They are (1) good, (2) fun, and (3) a hoot to listen to. ![]() ![]()

IMO, that death metal was as welcome and appropriate here as a staring Marilyn Chambers movie would be on PBS Kids or the Disney channel.

Time to put this thread to sleep, eh?
As Abe Lincoln said before being rudely interupted at the theater:
"You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time" Let's get on with enjoying the Moon the way it was meant to be enjoyed and rejoice in the diversity. |

My belated 2 cents on the matter:
I'm the " third guy " in Gnosis Radio. I didn't participate in last week's show because, guess what, I don't like most of that music! When a theme was set, and I thought it was as good a theme as any we've had, I didn't complain. Yes, I don't like most of that music, but as it's been said many times in this thread, you just can't please everybody. So, if you liked the show, check the Gnosis site for the rates and go dig for similar artists. If you hated it, move on, and perhaps our next show will introduce you to some music you DO like. cheers, Alex. |
