Album List

OK guys so this is the list we're starting from.

Although I have spent whole afternoon completing it I'm sure it isn't complete . I don't know US scene as well as European and there are Moonies who have quite original tastes. So now about three weeks for you. Please write here your suggestions and what has been missed, I'll be updating the list.

We include studio and live albums.
We do not include EP's and rereleases.

------------------------------------------

The list has been moved - see "Voting opened" thread.

Re: Album List

Need to add:

Schon, Neal - I On U
Yes - The Word Is Live
A Silver Mt. Zion - Horses in the Sky
Tarentel - Big Black Square (EP)
Tarentel - Paper White (EP)
Tarentel - Ghost Weight (EP)
Various Artists - Back Against The Wall: A Tribute To The Wall
Oldfield, Mike - Light + Shade

Sure the Tarentel's are EPs, but a Tarentel EP is a full length album! They are all over 30 minutes.

Re: Album List

I cannot make exceptions for Tarentel. There have been other 2005 EP's that last for about 30 mins.
So either we include all or none.
What do Moonies think?

Thanks for the rest Spaz. How could I forget about Oldfield... Oh maybe because this is the poll for the best, not the worst 2005 album..

Re: Album List

Woj and all,

Sonus Umbra just released "Digging For Zeroes", and I just listened to it. It's absolutely fantastic. I'll play it all on the show next week. Please add it to the list.....unless it goes into the 2006 pot.

I'll take a look at this one Rick. If it's labelled as 2005 release then no problem I guess.

Spaz - great avatar.

Thanks. It's the cover to Tarentel's EP "Fear of Bridges."

I am of the opinion that tribute albums shouldn't be included, but if the majority is for it, go ahead...

Re: Album List

They are records in the year mentioned. But if they get any votes, there's a serious lack of good music, and I know in 2005 that's not the case.

Re: Album List

I'd rather keep them on the list. They aren't compilations but sometims band's efforts (like for example Collage's Nine Songs of John Lennon).

I consider 2005 as the year with plenty of good albums but serious lack of very good. I'd not call any of this year recordings phenomenal, marvellous, really stunning.

Woj, I have found 1 that stuns my Sound system, and 1 that I find absolutely Marvelious and Infectious for replays. This year does have some Gems

I've been thinking about this myself over the last couple of days. There aren't any new albums that stick out in my mind (like last year was a vintage year for prog).

I just can't think of anything that hasn't already been added...

I thought 2005 was magnificent for prog. I'm just hoping we get the ones that are released in December on the 2006 list

Well, this is way too late, but I'm putting it on my voting list anyway:
Toccata - Circe
