Re: Overrequesting?

Same here. I prefer request times, but I think Wednesdays are a good thing, though.

Anyways, I think the overrequesting problem is now over. And there are lots of things I've never heard here playing these days, so I'm quite satisfied with the requests.

I think that this problem that we had (13 time DK, 9 time TFK etc) comming all from one requester cheatring amateurwise our system, can erase anytime again. (Thanks again to Vax resolving this particular one).

In order not to have this prob again, I suggest to have rq only for members. In addition to that (but this is not so important, but funny so that we can blame him/her in shout... ), every requester should be shown by name with the possibility to dedicate the tune.

Regarding rules for requests they are fine for me, but should be explained somewhere on the rq page.

And finally, I like RFW.

I try to refrain from these discussions becuase I have a show, and that inherently may create a bias/conflict of interest. But allow me to take off my show hat for a minute...

I enjoy RFW. You hear some neat stuff. However, if you eliminate RFW, maybe a script (forgive me I know not the term) could be written to have SAM throw in every third song. Something like that....and the rules work well, but there seems to be the consensus that rules should be posted. more info is always good.

You could move request free days to monday or tuesday or both. There's already 5 hrs of shows on monday and 6+ on tuesday. it could be argued that they are already rq free times.

I agree with all of what Lotus says except the members limitation. i'd rather not see a rule made to fix an issue that pops up only occasionally.

Re: Overrequesting?

I forgot one thing...Request queue should be cleared when RFW begins, IMHO it makes no sense to ply rq's after 24 hours or more. So requests should be allowed then again 1 hour before RFW (or RFM, RFT, RFT etc) finnishes.

Comming back to Rick, maybe there would be a better day, I personally do not care as far as there is one day per week.

SAM already fills in the "holes" so to speak.

The problem is the long shows and replays thereof. These stall the request queue and then, when requests can again ensue, they simply get dumped into the play queue.

Thought so about SAM. The stalling of the queue could be another reason to move RFW. I used to be able to move them up to play before the Monday play of my show but I'm never home anymore to do so.

This I like... accountability!

Then, if somebody is over-requesting, he/she can be dealt with appropriately!
