Re: AM Best of 2006

You're right Lotus. Maybe we need another poll for poll's name .

But... there are two things that shouldn't be mixed up: poll/show name and award name. I'm not sure if Mailo's proposition refers to the same thing as Purple Furry Marshmallow. We can have Moon'o'poll (our annual thing) and we give Marshmallows away.

Anyway I'm up for whatever you choose as I like all ideas. However, I agree with Mortis that so silly names can be very confusing. Imagine you're band leader who receives email with: "..hi there..blah blah blah... you won Purple Furry Marshmallow Award". Having heard that I'd not know if this is for the best 2006 album or the worst? Especialy in case of purple colour. Golden Purple Marshmallows (Silver and Bronze) sounds better to me and I like the Gardener idea too.

Re: AM Best of 2006

Now some reflections and information connected with this year poll.

You know that during two previous polls we had two slightly different rules of voting, open and closed album list, show in early January and in late January.
This time I'd like to take best ideas from previous years.

First of all show again should be sooner than later. Early January, that is, as I have exam session in late January and last year, when I had show in the same time, I had take some exams more than once .

The idea of album list was good IMO but due to show in early January again we need to change things a bit. My proposition is to have "semi-closed" list. We make the list when we open the voting period and then you can every time propose adding the album we forgot about to the list.
With such list you would be able to vote till end of 2006 and we would have the show on first or second January Saturday.

Roger - I'll PM you when there are things to set up. Now I'd like to ask if it is possible to bring Awards forum back so that it stays until poll's over.

Great ideas all, Wojtek.

So you're looking at Jan 6 or 13....whichever one it is, I will set aside the Scale for the replays (1/7,8 or 1/14,15).

Rick

Re: AM Best of 2006

the 2006 Aural Moon 21st Century BOP poll

BOP = best of planet

just a thought...award would be a sphere with a projected internal visual of the moon going thru it's phases from full to new moon...just slightly larger than a baseball.

just my 2cents
