Re: Explosions In The Sky
I would like to STRONGLY suggest a way for registered listeners to upload music they themselves have performed! How cool would it be to have a location on the site where users could upload mp3s of music of their very own and have it placed in rotation or on the request board. The composer/performer would have to agree to/understand that royalties or other legal issues would have to be waived. I would love to hear feedback on this idea as I think it would be an excellent format for added listening pleasure. Moonweed-

Re: Explosions In The Sky
Well, I can't speak to that, because I'm just trying to introduce this band to others by talking about them here. Someone else contributed a website so folks can visit and learn more about them.
That seems to be the way to reach out and find new music. Now Explosions is a new take on Pink Floyd type material, heavy on the guitars. Perhaps my allusions to Robin Trower are not accurate - not his guitar technique per se, but perhaps just that heavy fender sound. Still, ya got to check them out. Now, that said, I would not mind a bulletin board where we could submit links to a moderator for review. These links would be to "new music" sites for artists to show themselves off. |

As far as listeners uploading music - we don't have a place set up to do that, but we do have a fair amount of music that is from listeners. I am the screener for music additions, so listeners with music can either snail mail me a CD for review, or e-mail a track or two if there isn't too much music. Send me a private message if you have music that you want to submit and we can discuss details further. Thanks! Jim |
