That's a very informative post jtm......nice one.

On the subject of Double Bass kits, my take is that they look good and can be a great benefit when soloing but even then they are not absolutely necessary. I remember watching Mick Jones when he was in the Groundhogs and I'm sure he had a single bass kit but a peddle he could use with both feet to produce that faster roll effect. He was rather good.

I'm not a drummer so I could be talking absolute rubbish but that was how I saw it at the time.
