Re: What CD's Are you Playing Right Now? Top 5
1. "The Water is Wide Variations" by Al Fleeman - new prog-ish album on the classical/amient side. Aural Moon's Mat Sgattoni said "The new work is stunning". Plug done, here are some others:
2. "The Underfall Yard" by Big Big Train - Genesis/Yes influenced, but really developing their own identity with this release. 3. "Journey's End" by The Enid - Into their 5th decade and displaying a strong classical influence, this may be their finest work. 4. "We're Here Because We're Here" by Anathema - winning loads of accolades (certainly on this side of the pond), this guitar-led album is dripping with emotion yet full of positivity. Fine singer, too. 5. "Milliontown" by Frost* - This bands sad demise is a good excuse to revisit this fine debut. From whimsical to downright rocky, complex yet catchy, this album is tinged with genius. |
