Oh, and I do like 80s era of all those bands, but not as much.

I heard "Hitch A Ride" today in the car (radio). What a great tune.

I know sarcasm when I hear it. But apparently, not when I read it.

I was indeed referring to ABC. I always have and always will believe that the Beatles White Album is the epitome of Progressive or Art Rock. Revolution #9 while stoned is one of my cherished memories (sorta) of my misbegotten youth....

Many heartfelt thanks

I was pleasantly surprised to see a forum section dedicated to the commemoration of the aniversary of my birth. Thank you all for the warm wishes and happy returns. It really means a lot.

And a special thank you to KeithieW for starting this thread.

I don't have much to contribute to the prog era debate. I am hopelessly biassed on anything that was produced during the late 60's and early 70's. My personal epiphany happened as a result of hearing Captain Beyond's "Dancing Madly Backwards" album back in '72 while deeply ensconced in a state of non-ordinary reality. It remains the standard by which I measure most rock music I hear today.

Thank you all once again for your kind rememberances.
