Arena Gig In Essen 0n Oct 12th

Knowing Arena only from the Moon and having no CD's from them, I was quiet curious about what I would expirience during this gig in Teche Carl, Essen (DE).

The place was nearly sold out, so the ambiente was quiet good. Arena begun with Bedlam Fayre (I know from the Moon) and continued in that style, hard and heavy during the first hour. To be frank, the first 45 min was warming up themselves. It was hard and heavy, but not always best. After this "warming phase", they played some more quiet tunes and it became better and better.

At the end of the 2h 20 min gig they were at their best. The last encore (I have no idea what song it was) was prog at it's very best. Genius changes of rhythm, melodic tunes combined with full power. Excellent.

Unfortunatelly they did not play Opera Fanatica....

But, resuming, at the end a great gig!!
