Just a quick reminder about PROGDAY, which is coming up weekend after next. I'm excited to be playing the pre-show with Speechless and if any of you AM folks are there be sure to say hi. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door. Membership entrance is included in the ticket price. Doors open at 8:30pm. You must be at least 18 to attend and a valid ID is required. For advance ticket sales or more information about the venue, please go to the LOCAL 506 website: http://www. local506. com/ 9:00pm: Kinetic Element (US) Led by "mad organist" Mike Visaggio, join KINECTIC ELEMENT for a mix of classic prog inspired original tunes and select covers! 11:00pm: Speechless (US) See why this instrumental quartet has been creating a stir on the progressive scene, including a "Best Progressive Rock Instrumental Indie Performance" award from the Progressive Rock Hall Of Fame in 2008. They will do your faves from their deubt CD along with a few covers that have gotten the Speechless treatment and 4 tunes from their yet unreleased second CD! " 3:15pm: Abigail's Ghost (USA) Featuring intricate rhythms, psychedelic passages, dramatic vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics, ABIGAIL'S GHOST are establishing themselves as one of the pre-eminent new progressive groups of the contemporary scene. 5:45pm: Ain Soph (Japan) Inspired by bands like Hatfield And The North, Soft Machine and Camel, don't miss the first American performance by "one of the best Canterbury music bands in the world. " ---------------- Sunday Schedule, August 31st, 2008 10:30am: CHEER-ACCIDENT (USA) From complex prog to progressive pop, noise and sound collages, CHEER-ACCIDENT bring their unclassifiable exploration of music to ProgDay with an expanded 8 person line-up. 12:15pm: Pinnacle (USA) Writing accessible songs in the tradition of classic progressive rock, PINNACLE are making a name for themselves as one of the best up and coming symphonic bands in the US. 1:30pm: Canvas Solaris (USA) Hyper-technical passages, spacey atmospheres, acoustic arrangements and quiet introverted interludes mix together to point a new direction for the heavy progressive and progmetal scenes. 3:15pm: Mirthrandir (USA) Considered to be one of the best American prog bands of the 70s, join them for songs from their renowned classic album as well as unreleased material. 5:45pm: Secret Oyster (Denmark) One of the foremost fusion ensembles of the 70s brings their instrumental prowess and rich compositions back to the US for the first time since their triumphant NEARfest reunion. http://www.progday.com |
