I reckon Starcastle's Real to Reel has to be up there somewhere.

I noticed # 30 on the list that Thor provided looks very much like the cover to Roxy Music's Manifesto...strange coincidence or more of Ferry's avant-gard attitude... check it out and see if you agree...

That list rears its ugly head every few months.......no less revolting.

Maybe it's the Russion Manifesto D'ez...

Re: WORST Album Cover Artwork

Thanks for the links to the reeeeeally bad covers. I'm gonna go throw up now.
But i was really looking for bad prog album covers. Maybe we could do it by band... "Yes's worst is (insert your opinion here)", or "ELP's worst is ....".

Oh well, maybe this thread got played out quickly. Back to the music!!!

Well i think Yes's worst would have to be 90125 or Big Generator or Tormato better yet ill just say all 3 were pretty bad

Some Sabbath artwork, on the other hand, is relatively well done. The covers of the debut album and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, for example.

Many years ago I copied the cover of Vol 4, or the figure of Ozzy, using the grid technique. The modest drawing, quite a bit larger than the CD cover it was copied from, is still on the wall in my old home, at my father.

Looks like we dediced that Stuermer, Daryl - 20th Century Lady Steppin' Out, is worthy a nomination.

Re: WORST Album Cover Artwork

Some of Mike Oldfield's covers are lame. Just bad photos of him, like the wanna-be mystical crap-shoot (get it?) that was the cover of Voyager. Ommadawn's cover is pretty non-good too. Incantations....

As for Yes, I'd have to go with Big Generator and Open Your Eyes.
Pink Floyd: Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
Rush: I'm pretty non-impressed with the debut's cover.

And most of Roxy's are just trashy.

Honorary 'worst album cover' mention, however, must go to Sabotage - Bill Ward's 'paunch and red tights' look is absolutely unique

Re: WORST Album Cover Artwork

Just pulled out my copy of Gryphon's LP "Midnight Mushrumps". That cover is pretttty bad. The album title doesn't have much going for it either, but that's another topic.
